After years of speculation on a possible Switch Pro, we could finally see an improved switch replacement announced in the coming months. Bloomberg has published a report that the new Switch will be released in September or October, and the long-awaited upgrade should be presented before E3 2021. This is probably for third parties working on games for the upgrade switch. May present their work as part of the E3, before the Nintendo digital showcase currently scheduled for later the same week. This would allow Nintendo to focus its E3 programming on software projects such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 or Metroid Prime 4.
Apparently, the upgraded switch will probably be more expensive than the original of $ 299. It will be sold alongside the existing Switch at $ 199, the Switch Lite is gradually eliminated over time. Bloomberg says Nintendo plans to start assembling the new Switch replacement as of July, and that production should accelerate between October and December despite the widespread shortages of semiconductors caused by the pandemic. These shortages have had a significant impact on the development of automobiles, televisions, headphones and game consoles, yes, including the Nintendo Switch. If Nintendo has really decided to introduce a Switch upgrade in this climate, this can be a fairly risky decision.
Bloomberg also states that: _ "Suppliers are convinced that they can honor Nintendo orders despite current chip shortages. Its production lines are better prepared for the potential reworking of the components and parts used by Nintendo are subject to less competition than those of the more powerful consoles of its rivals.
Note, however, that nothing is yet engraved in the marble and a spokesman for Nintendo refused to comment on the possibility of upcoming Switch upgrade.
