At the beginning of the film, Tetra says that the sorcerers are those who create the monsters that hunt to stay employed, and unfortunately vesemir confirms it after a confrontation with Deglan. Lady Zerbst has a nearby personal connection with vesemir, so she goes to Kaer Morhen to tell Vesemir that Tetra's words are being heard and that a crowd is directed towards them.
Deglan and Vesemir set aside their problems to defend the strength and gathered all the sorcerers to face the angry crowd. After a brief meeting goes wrong, the battle begins, and although the sorcerers are not really threatened by the Horde of normal humans that are directed towards them, Tetra amplifies everything from opening portals to the swamp, where Kitsu gathers monsters and sends them.
Suddenly, there are monsters everywhere in addition to the mafia, with huge creatures flying over. The sorcerers remain firm, but even they begin to fall due to the large number of creatures and inhabitants that attack them. More and more they begin to fall brutally, but vesemir and Deglan are still standing for when the battle reaches the floor below in the fortress.
It begins with a battle between Tetra, Kitsu and Vesemir, but despite Kitsu's magic, Tetra dies before he can kill Vesemir thanks to a deglan ax. He stays behind while Vesemir goes with Lady Zerbst, and observes from afar how the fortress burns.
